Newcastle confirm Harvey Barnes signing in £38m switch from Leicester as Magpies secure replacement for Saudi-bound Allan Saint-Maximin

Newcastle have completed the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester, forking out £38million to bring the winger to St James' Park.

Barnes has secured an instant return to the Premier League following Leicester's relegation to the Championship, sealing a move to Eddie Howe's side two weeks after Mail Sport revealed they had reignited their interest in him.

And as well heading back to the top flight, the 25-year-old is also now set to play Champions League football next season after Newcastle booked their place in Europe's elite club competition last term following a 20-year absence.
