Liverpool failed to adapt in their defeat to Leicester City, bemoans Georginio Wijnaldum: 'We were not ready at the beginning of the game'

Gini Wijnaldum lamented Liverpool's failure to adapt to the renewed intensity of a resurgent Leicester City in Monday's 3-1 defeat at the King Power.

Jamie Vardy scored either side of a Danny Drinkwater wonder goal as Leicester picked up their first league win of 2017 - just four days after the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

Philippe Coutinho netted a late consolation for Jurgen Klopp's side. But their poor start to 2017 continued as interim Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare picked up three points at the first time of asking.
