Leicester City's head of recruitment Eduardo Macia took a personal visit to check in on top target Gregoire Defrel this week, according to reports in Italy.
Macia was spotted at Monday's game between Fiorentina and Sassuolo, the Italian club where Defrel has been impressing for the past two seasons.
The forward's form has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Leicester, but it is the Foxes who appear to be stepping up their pursuit ahead of the January transfer window.
According to firenzeviola.it, Macia was spotted at the game on Monday, during which Defrel played 90 minutes as Sassuolo were beaten 2-1.
