In the weeks that have followed Claudio Ranieri's removal and Craig Shakespeare's instalment the perspective on Leicester's campaign has shifted to the point where Danny Drinkwater can say the campaign has ultimately been a success.
Jamie Vardy's goal was enough to beat West Bromwich Albion and send Leicester into 11th place and in range of a top-half finish.
Drinkwater argued such a Premier League position combined with a fine debut in Europe's elite competition would be judged positively.

'If somebody said we’d got to the quarter finals of the Champions League and finish 10th then a lot of people would have been snapping hands off for that,' said the midfielder.
