Leicester SACK manager Lydia Bedford after six straight defeats in the Women’s Super League, with the Foxes facing a relegation battle for the second season in a row

Leicester City have sacked manager Lydia Bedford after six straight defeats in the Women’s Super League, hours after the manager said she did not fear for her future.

The Foxes are rock bottom of the table with zero points and are facing a relegation battle for the second season in a row.

Willie Kirk will move from his role as Director of Football to replace Bedford on a permanent basis and will be supported by Emile Heskey and Steve Kirby. Nicola Williams has also left her role as assistant manager.
