Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri considers axing Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez as he bids to avoid Premier League relegation

Claudio Ranieri is ready to break up the defence that inspired Leicester’s title win, with Robert Huth and Wes Morgan’s places in serious jeopardy.

Ranieri is considering drastic measures to lead his side from the threat of relegation and Sportsmail understands players who did not start against Swansea were unexpectedly called in for training yesterday.

The whole squad had been in line for a day off but Ranieri altered plans to work with those who are set to come in for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Millwall, which could act as a trial run for the Premier League game against Liverpool seven days later.
