Leicester City star Jamie Vardy's hope of a romantic return to face former club Fleetwood Town could be over due to injury.
The striker was ruled out of Leicester's New Year's Day clash with Huddersfield with a groin injury he picked up in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
The problem is only believed to be a minor one, but it was enough for him to miss Monday’s Premier League clash, and it means he is now unlikely to feature against his old club in the FA Cup next Saturday.
Fleetwood sealed their place in the third-round with a 2-0 replay win over Hereford, with captain - and Leicester academy product - Cian Bolger scoring both goals.
