Leicester City 2-0 Fleetwood: Kelechi Iheanacho scores first goal in English football awarded by VAR to see off League One side as Jamie Vardy makes cameo against his former club

History was made in English football on Tuesday night as Kelechi Iheanacho scored the first goal awarded by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Iheanacho had already netted late in the first half, low under Fleetwood goalkeeper Chris Neal after Leicester started sluggishly.

Then with 12 minutes to go, an Iheanacho chip home was ruled out for offside initially. However, replays showed the goal was legal, and referee Jon Moss overturned the first decision.
