Arsene Wenger has revealed he risked Laurent Koscielny’s fitness against Leicester on Saturday.
Koscielny sustained a back injury in training on Friday and was a major doubt for the goalless draw against the champions.
Given the France defender is Arsenal’s only fit experienced centre back following pre-season injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, the problem left Wenger with a major dilemma.
But his gamble paid off as Koscielny produced a man-of-the-match display to help secure Arsenal’s first point of the season.
