Kelechi Iheanacho can strike up lethal partnership with Jamie Vardy, claims Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare

Craig Shakespeare believes Leicester have pulled off a transfer coup by signing Kelechi Iheanacho and insists the 20-year-old can form a productive partnership with Jamie Vardy.

Iheanacho has recovered from a toe injury to be in contention for the Premier League's curtain-raiser at Arsenal on Friday night and Shakespeare has been impressed in training.

Leicester paid Manchester City £25million for a centre-forward with the best minutes per goal ratio of any Premier League player with more than 10 strikes, and Shakespeare hopes he replicates that form at the King Power Stadium.

Initial signs were promising as Iheanacho set up Vardy for the winning goal in the final pre-season friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday.
