Kasper Schmeichel to miss Leicester's pre-season training camp in France - with manager Brendan Rodgers resting the Denmark goalkeeper after draining Nations League campaign

Leicester will head to their pre-season training camp in France without captain Kasper Schmeichel as boss Brendan Rodgers steps up his preparations for the new season.

Schmeichel has been granted additional time to recuperate after competing in Denmark's Nations League campaign, which concluded on June 13. The 35-year-old will also be heavily involved in his country's World Cup campaign, which begins on November 22 against Tunisia.

Leicester are keen to manage the workloads of their international players carefully this season, with key men required to rejoin Premier League competition shortly after the World Cup has finished.
