Joining champions Leicester ‘major leap in my career’, says summer signing Luis Hernandez

Luis Hernandez says it was an easy decision to join Premier League champions Leicester City this summer.

The defender moved to the King Power Stadium on a free transfer back in June after his contract with Sporting Gijon expired.

The 27-year-old reportedly had offers to stay in Spain or head to Italy, but the centre-back claims he was in no doubt where he wanted to play when Leicester made an approach.

"I decided to join because they were the champions," Hernandez told Marca.

"It was a major leap in my career, I had the option of playing in the Champions League and as soon as the opportunity arose I had no doubt.
