Former Liverpool and England defender Glen Johnson is in talks with Stoke City about settling up his contract six months before it's due to run out in the summer.
Johnson, 33, doesn't figure in manager Mark Hughes' plans and last appeared against Bournemouth on October 21.
With an amicable parting appearing to be in the interests of both sides, Stoke are looking elsewhere for a new right-back to compete with American international Geoff Cameron and homegrown teenager Tom Edwards.

Meanwhile, Johnson could interest Leicester City and West Brom who are looking to strengthen in that area.
