Danny Rohl tells Sheffield Wednesday players he is LEAVING the club as Leicester continue to monitor the coach

Leicester City target Danny Rohl has told senior players at Sheffield Wednesday he's leaving the club after nearly two years in charge.

Rohl hadn't returned to pre-season training at Hillsborough and effectively confirmed his exit in a ring-round of key figures in the dressing-room.

The Foxes, who parted company with Ruud van Nistelrooy on Friday, have held talks with Wednesday over a compensation package for 36-year-old Rohl who is also of interest to Brentford as assistant to Keith Andrews.

Though Rohl has been widely praised for stabilising Wednesday under the chaotic ownership of Delphon Chansiri and helped the club finish 12th in The Championship last season, he was questioned by players about why he'd not organised anything for the forthcoming campaign to which the German insisted he'd done his best.
