Claudio Ranieri has declared his pride at Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy earning Ballon d'Or nominations but warned the golden duo to keep performing or they will be dropped.
Mahrez and Vardy both made the 30-man list for Europe's prestigious individual prize, the first Leicester players to do so in history, and yet Ranieri insisted they must continue to work hard to keep being selected.
Ranieri has placed each of his star men on the bench this season - Mahrez at Chelsea, Vardy for last weekend's visit of Crystal Palace - and while that owed much to squad rotation the Italian made plain he is not afraid to swing the axe should either allow the accolade to go to their heads.
