Chelsea have made a third bid worth around £30m for Danny Drinkwater.
But the offer falls well short of Leicester’s £40m valuation of the midfielder.
Leicester have already rejected a £23m bid by Antonio Conte’s side and this new attempt is not thought to be a huge advance.
Drinkwater is keen to join the reigning Premier League champions and handed in a transfer request on Monday in an effort to force the move.
But Leicester are under no pressure to sell with Drinkwater’s contract not running out until 2021.
