Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone's style and character is suited to England, it would be a shame should he never work in the Premier League

Diego Simeone sat in the living room of his sumptuous Rome villa and rolled up his trouser leg mid interview. As he did so, he continued to speak enthusiastically.

‘The first time I played England was at Wembley in 1991,’ he said.

He then pointed to a scar on his shin, 'I've still got a souvenir from Stuart Pearce from that day!' he added smiling.

That was back in 2002 when he was with Lazio and was about to renew rivalries with England in Japan after the epic 1998 World Cup game between the two countries.
