The first words out of Mark Davis’ mouth Tuesday sounded vaguely familiar, only his dad Al Davis wouldn’t have cleaned up the adjective he used for more appropriate public consumption.
“This is a big effing deal,” Davis said to an assembled army of past Raiders greats, a battalion of media and the outside world over the airwaves of ESPN, the network Jon Gruden has now officially left to return to his “unfinished business” with the Raiders.
Big effing deal was so right. The Grand Return of Gruden at Raiders HQ in Alameda Tuesday was a silver and black monster.
