Silver Minings: ESPN votes Brock Bowers as the #1 tight end in the NFL

The Las Vegas Raiders surprised the NFL in 2024 by drafting Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in the first round. While it was questioned at the time, after Bowers played a whole season, it was a smart decision by Tom Telesco.

Bowers came out swinging in year one with the most receptions by a rookie at any position with 112. He added 1194 yards and four touchdowns with inconsistent quarterback play. It has Raider Nation wondering if he can have an even bigger season with Geno Smith as the signal caller for the offense.

While the Raiders have appreciated Bowers, NFL executives and coaches see his abilities as well.
