Raiders sign LB Lorenzo Alexander, cut Horace Miller

The Raiders signed veteran linebacker and East Bay native Lorenzo Alexander on Wednesday, the team announced. Horace Miller was waived to make room on the roster.

Alexander, who played at Cal and St. Mary’s High in Berkeley, was cut on Monday by the Arizona Cardinals. He’s entering his ninth year in the league and made the Pro Bowl in 2012 for his special teams work with Washington.

He’s started only 16 of the 111 career games he’s played in but gives the Raiders an added veteran presence and experienced special teams player if he sticks around on the roster.
