In the midst of a dreary 1-6 season, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden found a glimpse of light on Monday afternoon expressing his excitement for the potential returns of defensive tackles Justin Ellis and Eddie Vanderdoes.
“I know Eddie Vanderdoes has a chance to make his debut against the 49ers,” Gruden said. “Justin Ellis is a guy we really miss. Obviously, we re-signed him quickly in free agency to make him a big part of this run defense.”
Ellis suffered a foot injury week one against the Rams, and was placed on injured reserve making week nine the earliest he can return.
