Raiders newest player Demetrius McCray spent last season in Seattle on the Seahawks practice squad. In Seattle they have long had a type. They like big, physical corners. When Ken Norton Jr came to the Raiders, he brought that preference with him to Oakland.

Currently the Raiders starting corners are 6-2, 215-pound Sean Smith and 6-1, 205-pound David Amerson. Their level of physicality may be in question, but they definitely have the size Norton covets.

This week, with the injuries to several of the team’s corners, they signed another big corner, bringing in 6-2, 200-pounder Demetrius McCray who said in his year with the Seahawks, the coaching staff would routinely get confused between he and All Pro cornerback Richard Sherman.
