Raiders cut 3 players who opted out of 2020 for Coronavirus reasons

While the Las Vegas Raiders may cut some bigger-name players this month for salary-cap reasons. they did release three players on Monday.

Certainly, the names of Ukeme Elwige, Jeremiah Valoago and D.J. Killings won’t rock the Raider Nation. But together, there is some interest and it has created a small buzz.

The fact these three players were all cut on the same day was either a coincidence or a subtle message from the team.

Elwige, Valoago and Killings all opted out of the 2020 season because of the coronavirus. The NFL allowed players to do so and several around the league did, indeed, opt out.
