ALAMEDA — As if dealing with a crisis of presidential and spousal proportions wasn’t enough, Raiders coach Jack Del Rio Monday had to sort through the rubble of a one-sided loss on an international stage.
The day after a 33-8 loss to the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, Del Rio insisted things could have been different had it not been for a sequence in the late second-quarter and early third quarter that fueled a blowout.
“It certainly got away from us, no question, but I think if you go back as we do, study the film and look at the effort and energy being put forth, our guys were ready to play,” Del Rio said.
