Jon Gruden is most closely associated with quarterbacks, but he’s long had an affinity for big, powerful running backs.

During his first tenure with the Raiders, Gruden used to refer to it as “dropping a house on somebody.”

Chris Warren III, an undrafted rookie who weighs 253 pounds, is a potential house-dropper who is gradually learning the art of delivering a blow and finishing a run.

“It’s something I’m trying to adapt to more every day, because I’m more of a one-cut and go (runner) — not necessarily violent,” Warren said.
