On a quiet transaction Tuesday, the lone move the Las Vegas Raiders made involved keeping a familiar name inside the organization as they signed wide receiver Rico Gafford to the practice squad.
The move was not a surprise since Gafford cleared waivers on Monday when he went unclaimed. Gafford was on the waiver wire because the Raiders waived him Saturday to make room for defensive tackle Daniel Ross, who was activated from the injured reserve.
Gafford has been a Raiders’ fan favorite because of his speed but he hasn’t made much an impact in the regular season.
