Pro Football Hall of Fame has chance to right a wrong with Tom Flores

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is ever, so close to righting a wrong.

Legendary Raider Tom Flores was named a 2021 finalist on Tuesday in the coaching category, a relatively new classification after years lumping them in with modern-era or senior members.

He won’t have competition for enshrinement, needing a simple 80-percent approval rate from the Hall of Fame selection committee the Saturday before Super Bowl LV. These finalists are essentially rubber-stamped into the Hall of Fame.

The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, who was on the coaching selection committee that made Flores a finalist, said these finalists are “just about guaranteed” to be part of the 2021 class.
