In a Sports Illustrated piece on the Raiders 4th training camp practice, written by Austin Murphy, it mentions how at the end of practice, recurring camp leg Giorgio Tavecchio outkicked 17 year starter, Sebastian Janikowski. Which got me thinking, would the Raiders actually cut Janikowksi this year? If the underlying mantra of this new Raiders revival is competition, you bet your Al Davis they would.
But really, would they? Would they let Giorgio outkick him at every opportunity but still keep him? If that happened, I don’t think this staff could keep their credibility with the players if they didn’t cut him.
