When the Oakland Raiders selected Jihad Ward in the second round, many questioned the pick as a reach while some also questioned if Ward would even be healthy going into his rookie season. A report surfacing following his selection claiming that some teams had concerns that Ward would require a minor knee surgery that would put him on the sidelines for a portion of his rookie season.
The Raiders front office and coaching staff were not amongst the teams who believed Ward may have a shaky knee. Head coach Jack Del Rio making it perfectly clear during his press conference at rookie minicamp on Friday that the team believes that their second round pick has a clean bill of health.
