Right across the bay from Colin Kaepernick’s protest, the Oakland Raiders addressed the 49ers quarterback’s act of sitting during the national anthem.
Raiders fullback Marcel Reece said you can not fault an entire country or flag because of a few bad, ignorant people. He said those ignorant acts don’t represent the country.
“Being a black male, a lot of things can upset you and frustrate you by the things that are going on in society,” Reece said ESPN.com on Monday. “And to be honest, a lot of things aren’t new. But at the same time, I think you have to have a balance between what you’re representing and what you’re choosing not to respect.
