NFL Declines to Fine Tyree Wilson On Controversial Tackle

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has likely seen his breakout season cut short after suffering a foot injury on a hip-drop tackle by Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Tyree Wilson in the third quarter of Denver’s 10–7 Week 10 win over Las Vegas. Dobbins voiced his frustration with the NFL’s handling of the banned tackling technique after the game and so far, his anger appears justified. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Wilson was not fined for the play, with the league determining the tackle did not qualify as an illegal hip-drop.

“The NFL did not fine Raiders OLB Tyree Wilson for the tackle that injured JK Dobbins, determining it was not an illegal hip drop,” Pelissero reported on X (formerly Twitter).
