None of the Raiders players sat during the national anthem before Thursday’s game, but Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane did. It was not known if the action was in solidarity with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, as his team had no immediate comment and Lane wasn’t available to talk until after the game.
The action didn’t get much of a response from his teammates or the fans at Oakland Coliseum. Afterward, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman did sit next to Lane for a quick chat, before they ran out to play in the first series of the game.
