ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The sly smile on Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio’s face said it all.
Raiders fans had taken over Qualcomm Stadium the day before in their team’s playoff-clinching 19-16 victory over the San Diego Chargers and Del Rio, in his weekly media conference, was asked if he was “startled” to see the Chargers’ blue overrun by so much silver and black.
Cue Del Rio’s grin.
“I wasn’t startled by the number that I saw yesterday only because we kind of had a little bit of a hint ahead of time that it was trending that way and there were reports that (it was going to be) close to 70 percent (Raiders fans),” Del Rio said Monday.
