SANTA CLARA — Midway through the fourth quarter of the Raiders’ latest humiliation, a fight broke out in the Levi’s Stadium south end zone stands. Raiders and 49ers fans exchanged punches, one fan in a Donald Penn jersey hurling hefty right hooks. In a separate fight, a Raiders fan wearing a Marshawn Lynch jersey ate a right fist and fell backward over a row of seats.
The fan’s tumble was symbolic of the Raiders’ 34-3 loss, yes, but at least the fan showed a little fight before his demise.
Professional football players will always try. They have families to provide for, reputations to uphold and film to log for future employers.
