After a two-day break from an early free-agent flurry, the Raiders have apparently added their ninth free agent. Guard Eric Kush announced he has signed with the team:
Kush, who turns 31 in September, is an eighth-year journeyman backup. The Raiders will be his sixth team. He was with Cleveland last year. Kush, 6-4, 317 pounds, has started 19 games in seven NFL seasons.
Kush provides veteran depth at a need position. This could indicate the Raiders won’t bring back veteran backup Jordan Devey. It could also provide insurance if the Raiders trade or cut starting guard Gabe Jackson.
