Mike Mayock wasn’t lying to us when he said Gabe Jackson will be the Las Vegas Raiders’ starting guard back on April 25.
When the NFL business day ended at 1 p.m. PT on Monday and Jackson was still a Raider, it meant his 2020 $9.6 million salary became guaranteed. The June 1, 2020 date was set in his contract, which he signed in 2017.
As we explained last week, it was likely that the Raiders wouldn’t cut Jackson close to the deadline. But there were hints all offseason that the Raiders were considering moving on from the 20104 third-round pick.
