The Las Vegas Raiders were in line to have the most dominant defensive line in the NFL last season under head coach Antonio Pierce. Unfortunately, the unit was dead on arrival as Malcolm Koonce tore his ACL before the season began and Christian Wilkins broke his foot in Week 5.
Wilkins was then shockingly released in late July by the Silver and Black following a dispute about his rehab process. This left a gaping hole in the middle of the defensive line, but fortunately, the Raiders brought in reinforcements this offseason.
Adam Butler, who is one of the most perennially underrated defenders in the league, was re-signed this offseason on a three-year deal.
