Former Raiders WR Henry Ruggs sentenced to 3-10 years in prison

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs was sentenced to three-10 years in prison by a judge in a Las Vegas courtroom Wednesday.

Ruggs,24, formally pled guilty in a DUI case and accepted his plea agreement in May. He was facing anywhere between three and 10 years (based in part to on good behavior) in a Nevada state prison. So, the judge adhered to the stipulations of his plea. Had the judge given a more stiff sentence, Ruggs had the option of withdrawing his plea deal.

Ruggs addressed the courtroom Wednesday morning. He took full responsibility for his actions and apologized to the victim’s family (23-year-old Tina Tintor), his family, and his Raiders coaches and teammates, saying he “let them down.
