Ex-Raider backup QB David Humm dead at 65

David Humm, who in his 10-year NFL career as a quarterback won more Super Bowl rings with the Raiders (two) than he made starts (one), has died. He was 65.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star in Nebraska — where Humm was the Cornhuskers’ starter in 1972-74 — the cause of death was complications related to multiple sclerosis.

“The entire Raiders Family is deeply saddened to learn of David Humm’s passing,” the team said. “David was a true Raider in every sense and the heart of the Raider Nation goes out to his family at this time.
