Running backs seem on the verge of becoming cool again in the NFL, and the Las Vegas Raiders could be a frontrunner on that bandwagon with Ashton Jeanty.
The sixth overall pick of the Raiders in April’s draft, Jeanty is expected to spark what was the NFL’s worst running game last season. While the current buzz is that veteran Raheem Mostert will handle some third-down duties to lighten the load on the rookie, Jeanty will certainly be getting the lion’s share of the touches. Head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly have been hard at work this offseason to transform Jeanty into a complete player, turning him into the elite offensive weapon Raiders fan expect him to be.
