The Raiders have reportedly signed quarterback Garrett Gilbert to their practice squad, Gilbert’s agent Leigh Steinberg tweeted Monday morning.
There was no immediate word from the team on the move, but Oakland’s quarterback depth became a problem in the last two weeks of the regular season.
Starter Derek Carr suffered a broken leg in a Christmas Eve home game against the Colts and backup Matt McGloin was forced from Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Broncos with a shoulder injury.
Rookie Connor Cook replaced McGloin and played the rest of the game in Denver, which Oakland lost, 24-6.
