After years of drought, Raiders make early splash in free agency

A breakdown of the first week of free agency for the Oakland Raiders:

Most significant signing: As impressive as signing offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele and cornerback Sean Smith was for the Raiders, procuring the services of linebacker Bruce Irvin might be more inspiring. Irvin’s pass-rushing skills (22 career sacks in four seasons) give the Raiders a sack-happy tandem with All-Pro Khalil Mack (15 sacks last season) on the other side. Plus, Irvin has played in a pair of Super Bowls -- winning one -- with the Seattle Seahawks, so he brings that veteran leadership role, as well.
