Antonio Brown Out Week 1? Raiders News & Rumors On AB’s Cryotherapy “Extreme Frostbite” Injury

The Oakland Raiders may traded for star wide receiver Antonio Brown this offseason, but Derek Carr hasn’t been able to use his new toy because Brown is dealing with an injury to his feet. As seen on Hard Knocks 2019, Brown has been unable to practice due to “extreme frostbite” from cryotherapy. USA sprinter Justin Gatlin was interviewed and stated that he suffered the same injury as AB in 2011 and it took him months to heal properly. This started many Raiders rumors around whether or not Brown would be able to play Week 1 vs. the Broncos on Monday Night Football. Dr. David Chao, an internationally known sports medicine expert, who has been practicing orthopedic surgery in San Diego, California for the past 17 years at OASIS believes Brown will play Week 1.

Dr. Chao also doesn’t believe it’s possible that Brown has frostbite. Chao believes what happened is Brown was suffering from macerated feet (which occurs when skin is in contact with moisture for too long.)
