Raiders Rumors: Khalil Mack To Change His Uniform Number?

The NFL announced on Wednesday that all linebackers will now be eligible to wear numbers in the 40s -- an announcement which could lead to Oakland Raiders rising star Khalil Mack changing his number to the one he wore at the University of Buffalo, #46.

Here's Eddie Paskal of Raiders.com with the steps Mack would have to take to return to his collegiate number:

According to the NFL, first he would have to talk to the Raiders about a new number, who would then reach out to the league to alert them that they support his number change."

Next, the league and Nike would determine the amount of inventory that they had in stock featuring his old number and Mack would be responsible for buying out that inventory before he could officially make the change back to 46.

While Mack has given no indication yet as to whether he wants to switch from his current #52, the option is now on the table if he wants to take it.
