Why Kentucky basketball is not following Coach K's lead in canceling non-conference games

LEXINGTON – Comparing Kentucky to other college basketball programs is always difficult, but the one program that can realistically be used as a measuring stick for the Wildcats during the John Calipari era has been Duke.

Both Kentucky and Duke have typically been among the leading contenders for deep tournament runs over the last decade. The two programs have annually competed for the top recruiting class and have become heavy on one-and-done players each season.

It should come as no surprise then that Kentucky and Duke are both struggling early in a season where experience is as valuable as ever thanks to the unique circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
