Why did Benny Snell not get the ball on key overtime play at Texas A&M?

UK offensive coordinator Eddie Gran broke down his offense's performance at Texas A&M. Jon Hale, Louisville Courier Journal

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The one certainty about Kentucky's offense was supposed to be running back Benny Snell's ability to get tough yards in big moments.

So why then did Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran call a pass on third-and-two at the 17-yard line in overtime of a 20-14 loss to Texas A&M instead of giving Snell the ball?

"My thought was it’s going to be wide open, because everybody in the stadium is thinking Benny is going to get the ball," Gran said.
