LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky closed its preseason slate with an 88-64 exhibition win over IUP Friday.
Here are three quick takeaways.
1. Travis and Washington make a statement: Before the two preseason exhibitions, UK coach John Calipari said graduate student Reid Travis and sophomore PJ Washington had begun to separate themselves from the pack in the race for minutes. It should have been no surprise then that the two veterans were the only players to start both exhibitions against Transylvania and IUP.
Travis totaled 22 points and 14 rebounds.
