What top-100 recruit Kiyaunta Goodwin's commitment means for Kentucky football

LEXINGTON - The highest-rated football recruit from the Louisville area in more than 15 years has committed to Kentucky.

Four-star Charlestown High School offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin, who the 247Sports Composite rates as the No. 54 recruit in the entire high school class of 2022, picked UK Saturday over finalists Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Michigan State. No player from Louisville or Southern Indiana has been awarded a higher rating than Goodwin's .9775 in the 247Sports Composite since Trinity quarterback Brian Brohm in the 2004 class.

Kentucky was the first school to offer Goodwin a scholarship in 2017 when he was a 6-foot-6, 350-pound 13-year-old student at Louisville's Olmsted Academy.
