What Houston Rockets fans can expect from NBA draft pick, Kentucky guard TyTy Washington

LEXINGTON — TyTy Washington will hope to follow in the footsteps of several fellow recent Kentucky basketball alums after sliding in the NBA draft Thursday.

Projected as a lottery pick for most of the pre-draft process, Washington fell to No. 29 overall, where he was picked by the Memphis Grizzlies with the next-to-last pick in the first round. Washington's draft rights will be traded to the Houston Rockets, according to multiple reports.

Washington's slide marked the third consecutive draft a Kentucky guard had fallen further than initially projected in the draft, but each of those players (Keldon Johnson, Tyrese Maxey and Brandon Boston) quickly outplayed their draft position in the NBA.
