Western Kentucky knocked off Southern Miss 70-59 Friday to send the Hilltoppers to the Conference USA title game.
With the win, Western will earn and NCAA Tournament berth and give the state of Kentucky something its never had before…five teams in the Big Dance.
Murray State and Northern Kentucky have already qualified for the tournament with automatic bids. Kentucky and Louisville are locks.
WKU would give the Bluegrass State five teams in the tournament for the first time ever.
According to Mark Story, Kentucky has had four teams in the field twice: 1995 and 2012.
